Greetings to all volunteers and supporters of Strathcona in Bloom.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held at 7 PM on Nov. 17th followed by a regular Board meeting. You are invited to attend the AGM and stay for the regular board meeting. You could also join us virtually using Microsoft Teams if you prefer.

We will present a new set of Bylaws at the AGM this year. The changes are mostly quite small — a modernization of them. But, the proposed Bylaws do propose changing our annual fiscal year to be the calendar year. This will align with our reporting requirements to our largest funders — the County — and make life a little simpler for the Treasurer.

We will elect all positions for the Board. We would be very pleased to see 2 or 3 new Board Directors at Large join us. As a Director at Large, you don’t need to carry responsibility for any specific program or activity — you are there to assist others on the Board and learn about the Board and SIB. It is a good way to start off with us.

We won’t have final financial statements — we still haven’t received all the bills from the summer activity.

We would hope to have both meetings concluded within 2 to 2.5 hours.
