Volunteer Board Members
The Strathcona in Bloom Society (SIB) is a registered society under the Alberta Societies Act and is led by a Board composed of citizen volunteers along with a representative from Strathcona County. SIB operates through the contributions of over 100 volunteers across the community. Our volunteers plant and maintain flower beds and lead recognition programs for homeowner yards as well as businesses, non-profits etc. Our volunteers also participate on our behalf in local community programs such as Arbor Day and Canada Day.
As a member of the Board you participate in leading, guiding and directing the work of the volunteers. The Board meets about 8 times a year to manage the affairs of the Society and prepares annual reports on our activities to Strathcona County and for the Alberta Societies Act. As a Board member, you may also choose to volunteer in the programs we deliver.
